In a saucepan, place soup and butter until melted.
In a separate bowl, place hasbrowns and mix in sour cream and shredded cheddar.
Pour butter/soup mixture over hashbrowns and seasoning pack. Mix thoroughly.
Place in a baking dish and cook at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
Optional: You can put crushed corn flakes or chips on top before you put them in the oven!
